Following on from the extremely successful FORS audit, the Lighting Derby team along with other attendees from within Balfour Beatty have recently completed the Balfour Beatty Safe Urban Driving (SUD) training course delivered through Balfour Beatty Fleet Services.

 

The course is designed to put drivers in the position of a cyclist and other vulnerable road users to increase understanding of the challenges faced on the road.  The session is split into two halves with one session being classroom based looking at the risks to road users and the second being a practical on-the-road session to allow drivers to experience a journey as a vulnerable user.

 

The team found the session to be very informative and it is hoped that the roll out of this across the wider Balfour Beatty will help us to achieve our SAFE aspiration.
