Zero Harm milestone at the M77/GSO

Friday 4th September saw the M77/GSO project reach the milestone of 2,000 days without a RIDDOR or Lost Time Injury (LTI) accident. We have been able to reach this milestone thanks to our O&M Contractor’s (Balfour Beatty Regional West of Scotland Delivery Unit) strong and maintained focus on health & safety. This focus extends throughout the team and at all levels – from senior management to operatives, with a demonstrable culture of ‘everyone looking out for each other’ (aka the Bradley Curve). This culture recognises the dangers of working on high speed roads and the importance of not just looking out for colleagues but also of challenging each other to maintain high standards in relation to safety and guard against complacency.

By reaching such a milestone we can demonstrate to our clients our commitment to Build to Last, of being Safe and achieving Zero Harm.

Well done to all those involved.
